Jade's Story:

Jade is a photographer for a lifestyle magazine in Seattle.  As much as she loves the stimulation and variety of the city, she escapes to the rocky coast to the north a few times a year, even if it's only for a weekend.  The sound of crashing waves and the gust of cold, foggy air brings back memories of the magical summers she and her husband spent exploring the rugged shoreline and the marine life of that area when they were first married.

Jade had loved to explore the tide pools and photograph the vivid colors of the sea life just below the surface. She soon learned that when removed from their natural habitat, the beautiful creatures lost all color and became rough and ugly.  Why is it, she thought, that something can be so beautiful until you take it out of its element?

It was a lesson she has always remembered, and has tried to apply it to the way she lives her life -- always seeking out the environments and even the people that bring out her best.  And, now that she's more established in her career and has a stronger self-image, she has applied that same principle to how she dresses. Over time she has created a more simple, yet sophisticated wardrobe consisting of flattering cuts and interchangeable separates. Reflecting her lifestyle, she only wears things that bring out her best.  She calls it her "curated life" because it is something she has sought out and created for herself.

While packing for the upcoming weekend road trip up the coast she and her husband have planned Jade pauses to think about their plans to stay at a historic Inn overlooking the islands of the Puget Sound, dining in the elegant dining room and enjoying after dinner cognac by the wood burning fireplace in their room. During the days they'll be exploring the local gardens and art galleries, and taking a ferry over to one of the islands for lunch.

Her entire wardrobe for the trip will revolve around her colorful elegant kimono robe. It's the perfect topper for her interchangeable separates and will be a welcome luxurious wrap for the chilly ocean air. Besides that, it makes her look and feel at her absolute best. It is one of the best investments she's ever made, she realizes, as she slips it into her suitcase.
